Happy Fall y’all!
Tonight our theme “Homeward Bound” was a fantastic tie-in to go with the Thanksgiving holidays. We were reminded how important “going home” is, even if it is just a state of mind! Our three speakers tonight were full of passion and calls to action. Lekshimi gave an incredibly informative speech on the distasteful reality of food waste and how to minimize it, Geri’s “hands-on” speech showed us to touch is to thrive, and Eric gave a stellar 10th speech about how we are all champions and that with the power within us we can achieve anything! It was a thrilling completion of his CC manual and we are proud of him reaching this educational milestone!
When our Table Topics Master Wen told us he only came up with one question for Table Topics we were initially scratching our heads, but were soon laughing when he explained that question was to describe how to do anything they wished….BUT the speakers had to do it as if they were explaining it to a five year old. What an original and creative twist! It was a great challenge for our speakers and Wen playing the role of a five-year old had us grinning!
Our evaluators Ed, Greg and Uthara gave our speakers a well-planned and perfectly in-depth assessment of tonight’s speeches all of which gave not only the speakers fantastic praise and tips, but showed all of the members and guests how to perfectly execute a professional evaluation. Their utilization of the 3-2-1-S Method was on point! We were fortunate to have such fine evaluators to couple with equally amazing speeches.
It was a fantastic meeting, full of inspiration, laughter and fun. Next week we are excited to vote on a new slate of officers and induct our new member Esparanza, who based on how well she did at her very first Table Topic tonight, will be a perfect addition to our club! Her smile lit up the room and her imagination had us looking forward to her future speeches.
See you next week, and congratulations to our winners this evening!
